The bench harmoniously combines rawness of solid wood and sleek metallic base of copper piping.
In an attempt to retain the natural state and history of the wood as much as possible, a very light sanding was done to remove any splinters.
The result is a beautifully aged dark wood that lives to tell it's own story. The wood comes from outdoor structure for an old building in the east of Singapore which naturally makes the furniture weather resistant.
A hard wood species found in South-east Asia region, Chengal wood is usually applied to architecture, railway sleeper and boat decking due to its durability and little maintenance.
